Fresh-In-Hell

Here as promised is the second half of todays post with fresh new music to delight you. Complete with an irrelevant abstract title picture of course. First track is by Joe Goddard whose name you may recognise from Hot Chip, or more recently as being half of 2 Bears, the house duo taking music by storm this summer. Well here is some of his solo stuff, and it is definately not what you will expect from him, but it is large. Touching on a future garage tinge, he has made a bouncy track with a unique and Shakira-esque vocal that works all too well.

And if you hadn't heard of the 2 Bears, this is their latest track, an unbelievable remix of Metronomy - The Bay which manages to keep the basis of the original but then take it up a notch into a summer anthem which will be stuck in your head all day

Now for this guy I'm clueless. Haven't heard of him before and saw him on an off chance as my mate posted him on Facebook. But oh my God, I just hope you have quality speakers.

Ifan Dafydd - No Good by EdBanger

For this track I was going to post Phaeleh's track 'The Cold In You', but then I spotted that he had uploaded this track 4 days ago and it just had to be done. The grinding bass below the powerfully delicate vocals are as if Breakage was on speed. Which is something I would want to hear if Phaelah wasn't producing bangers like this.

Now the last track isn't the youngest and is getting rinsed quite abit but it is well worth a mention. Massively influenced by Massive Attack and getting quite abit of recognition and radio play, I can only hope that this is the way that pop music is going.

Flex'in Fwends

In the light of the latest Inbetweeners movie we have decided to bring you the best of Aural Flex's fwends... Fuck that, we don't need any obvious money-maker to bring you music made by our companions. The first of today posts today with the second bringing you fresh music which you should be hearing, while this one is bringing a select few tracks from people we personally know to the forefront.

First track is straight out of the Aural Flex camp from Max Jones (who seems to be producing quicker than David Guetta at the moment). Not his latest track, but my favourite of what he has put out lately, it's a really experiemental yet smooth listen with his signature clicks and a real good guitar solo.

Now from a previous flatmate of mine to a current housemate. This guy is called Crump and is putting out some really solid music at the moment, as well as working with Zed Bias currently. Definately check out his Soundcloud for his latest tracks, but I'm going to post my personal favourite by him, which is an absolute scorcher through the right speakers.

This next guy is probably the biggest guy I personally know. He is one half of My Nu Leng who are a future garage duo getting some quality releases supported by some big names, as well as having a mix played out on Mistajam's 1Xtra show. By himself he is a D&B producer and DJ and is definately going places.

Lastly, I don't know this guy personally but know of him and spoke to him abit with him being Bristol based. Something very different to what has been showcased so far, but a sound I very much support. This is an Electro-Swing mix live from some festival. Really fun music and great for playing when getting ready to go out!

Tempo - Should Sleep from Balint Seres

It may seem abit early for another post but I really had to share this as soon as I heard it. One of my flatmates had a mate stop round and turns out he made this beautiful track as well as filming and producing the video for it. The track is really melodic but also uplifting, while the video only enhances the raw and personal feel to the whole piece.
Even after this guy (Seres Balint a.k.a Tempo) stopped round for a few days, I didn't really find out much about him and it wasn't until the last day when I actually heard his track. However, him being an unknown quantity only adds to the enjoyment of his music which, on further inspection, is really enjoyable and unique.

Head-Melting Music

2nd post and abit of an Aural Flex update. If you care to look to the right, you can see we have updated our DJ profiles. There are some tracks and mixes uploaded, and more profiles to come. Anyway on to the music.

This first track is an absolute beaut from Lorca. It sounds very Koreless, with a low enough resonance to make any bonce bounce, and then there is a vocal which would make even Susan Boyle wet.

This one is something special from Dark Sky's latest EP 'Radius'. The whole release is four pieces of mind blowing music, but 'Neon' is my favourite just for the bubbly percussion hits and simple yet effective synth.

The last track is also a new-ish track from an EP, this time Hudson Mohawke. It may not be everyone's pick of the bunch, but it is garanteed to blow your mind either in disbelief or sheer frustration at how weird it is.

From The Drop

Alright peeps, welcome to Aural Flex and our first post of many.
Writing now is Keady (one half of Lamb Skank), and I'll be one of the numerous DJ's to post on here in an attempt to bring fresh flexing pleasures of the aural variety.
And, with this being the first anyone has to say from Aural Flex, it seems only fitting that the first tracks posted are ones which I think are perfect set starters.

First we have a reconstruction of a track by The Mystery Jets by Duke Dumont. They have literally taken it to pieces and then built up an eery atmosphere of circling vocals and echoeing beats. This then breaks down before patiently building itself back up before crashing a vortex of sound which can't come soon enough.

Next we have an awesome track by Tom Staar which whirs away and builds up energy before unleashing a frenzy of dutch house bleeps with a driving bass which wouldn't fail to get any set started.

Here is a remix of Fake Blood which allows you to slowly build up your set while still keeping energy at a high. It keeps on promising to drop into that definative Fake Blood bassline, but instead it keeps rolling over creating a tense atmosphere ready to explode with the next track, similar to DJ Fresh's recent remix of Wretch 32 - Don't Go

This next track is something abit different and touches on the hideous named 'Post Dubstep' sound. It's by a masterful producer Slugabed who moulds glitches, bleeps and cut vocals into an overwhelming build-up before unleashing an overwhelming drop.

This is a track which quite defines the unique Bristol sound at the moment, but in my opinion when under the radar abit. It would be a perfect start to patient mix which could draw the listener in before slowly building up. Bashmore manages to keep the vital stems which made the original so big, but then also adds his own personal melodic style to create an all round winner.
